Lesson 2: General Rules

No Wake Zone:

• Boats must travel at a slow speed to avoid creating waves that can cause damage and injury.

Maximum Speed Limit:

• The maximum speed limit in the harbor is 5 mph.

No Discharge Zone:

• Discharging any waste, garbage, or other materials into the harbor is prohibited.

No Dumping:

• No dumping of garbage, waste, or other materials is allowed.

Noise Regulations:

• No unreasonable noises between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Sea Lion Deterrence:

• Use approved methods to deter sea lions from resting on vessels.

Compliance with Newport Beach Municipal Code Section 17:

• Follow all regulations outlined in the Municipal Code to ensure safety and cleanliness.
