Lesson 2: General Safety Rules
Life Jackets and Flotation Devices:
- Ensure that all passengers have access to life jackets. Children under 12 must wear life jackets at all times. Make sure life jackets are readily available for everyone on board.
Prohibition of Alcohol and Drugs:
- Operating a boat under the influence of alcohol or drugs is illegal and dangerous. Ensure that the boat’s captain is sober and capable of safely operating the vessel.
No Swimming, Diving, or Jumping:
- Swimming, diving, or jumping from the boat is strictly prohibited to prevent injuries and accidents.
Emergency Equipment:
- Familiarize yourself with the location and operation of emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and emergency horns.
